Background
Xiaoxu Diao is a Research Engineer in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He previously served as a Research Engineer in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University from 2016 to 2025 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the State University of New York in South Korea in 2015. He earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the School of Reliability and System Engineering at Beihang University.
Xiaoxu Diao's research interests span system reliability and safety, fault diagnostics and prognostics, risk assessment for safety-critical systems, sensor deployment for online monitoring, test automation, cybersecurity for cyber-physical systems, and human reliability modeling and simulation environments. He has contributed to several research projects, authored and co-authored journal and conference publications, and holds multiple granted and pending patents. He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE.
