We’re excited to invite Woodruff School alumni to serve as judges and help evaluate student work focused on technical communication. These competitions recognize Woodruff School students who excel at translating technical knowledge for real audiences — from short-form videos that explain engineering concepts to engaging research talks that show why the work matters.
Judges may come from engineering, industry, science communication, media, design, or related fields. No prior judging experience is required—training will be provided and judging is done online.
Key Dates:
- Sign up by February 27
- Entries send out by March 3
- Judging due March 12
- Student showcase March 18 (optional to attend)
This is a flexible and meaningful way to support students and stay connected to the Woodruff School.

Sign up to be a Guest Speaker
We’re seeking guest speakers for a series of lunch sessions with our first-year students in ME1670 this Spring (Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 3 | 11:15 AM–12:15 PM). Industry leaders, Georgia Tech alumni, and former capstone teams are invited to share real-world perspectives, success stories, and inspire the next generation of designers and innovators.
Our goal is to showcase diverse pathways in design and manufacturing, foster meaningful connections, and motivate students to pursue the design/manufacturing track within the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering.
Interested in participating or have suggestions for speakers? Contact Dr. Raghu Pucha at raghuram.pucha@me.gatech.edu to get involved!
