Professional Summary

Courtney Sykes is the Senior Development Assistant in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering (ME). She manages Corporate events, engages with ME student groups, helps to develop an annual corporate program and much more! Prior to joining ME, she was a Faculty Support Coordinator for almost two years in the Engineered Biosystems Building. In that role, she provided administrative and financial support for 15 faculty and 75+ members of their respective lab/research groups from the College of Sciences & College of Engineering.

Courtney started her Georgia Tech career as a Faculty Support Coordinator in ME where she supported the Heat Lab. She assisted with budget administration, outreach and community engagement, and various other event management efforts, such as the Thermal Science Seminars.

Professional and personally, Courtney has a passion for service, networking and relationship and community building. She is active in the community, serving on the executive board for the Greater Atlanta Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Black Girls Code and as a volunteer for United Way of Greater Atlanta among other organizations.

Courtney received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Certificate in Leadership Studies from Florida State University and a Master of Science focused in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University.
