- Overloads are not issued because we use waitlists for our classes.
Registering for ME and NRE Research Courses
Restricted Class Permits for a research class or special problem class must be requested through the ME/NRE research database. After the permit is issued, it is the student's responsibility to register for the course.
All research requests must be made by midnight on Thursday of the first week of school. Requests submitted after that time will not be processed.
Taking Graduate Level Courses (6000 and above)
Undergraduate students who want to take graduate level classes need to request a permit through OSCAR and a level override from the registrar's office. Requests will only be evaluated during phase 2, and all requests made during phase 1 will be denied. There are 2 steps to the process so make sure you complete both steps.
Overrides for Courses in Other Departments (other than ME and NRE courses)
Each department handles their overrides and registration processes different. To find contact information for other departments, refer to the Department Contacts page on the registrar's website. This website is specific to ME, NRE and MP courses only.
