Calling all alumni... Are you interested in brushing up on your Statics skills? Would you like to know what’s going on in the Woodruff School lately? Want to be among the first to participate in an ME free massive open online course (MOOC)? You can get all this PLUS a commemorative ME125 gift if you register to take “Applications in Engineering Mechanics, taught by our very own Dr. Wayne Whiteman beginning November 4. This MOOC will address topics of truss structures, machines, frames, friction, and shear and moment bending diagrams. Watch an introductory video on this course:

For five weeks, Dr. Whiteman will post a weekly quiz for this MOOC via Coursera. Each Monday, after you complete the quiz, go to the Woodruff School Facebook page and leave your grade in the comment section of that week's MOOC post (i.e. 3/3 or 2/3) to see how you stack up against others in the course. Upon completion of the MOOC, all alumni who earn a Statement of Accomplishment or a Statement of Accomplishment with Distinction will receive a commemorative ME125 gift in the mail. Simply email a copy of Statement of Accomplishment, your mailing address, and state your Woodruff School degree and year of graduation to wayne.whiteman@me.gatech.edu to receive your gift.
