- M.S., Tuskegee Institute, 1978
- National Tsing-Hua University, 1976
Teaching Interests
Professor Wang has taught many courses in both nuclear engineering and medical physics over the past 35 years. These courses include radiation physics, radiation detection, diagnostic imaging physics, radiation dosimetry, internal dosimetry, radiation protection and shielding, Monte Carlo methods and applications in nuclear engineering and medical physics, and radiation biology and oncology. Most recently, he has been mostly responsible for teaching required courses for the medical physics program.
Research Interests
Professor Wang’s research areas, in a broad sense, include radiation detection, radiation dosimetry, and radiation biology. More specifically, he has done research in neutron detection and spectrometry, microdosimetry, nanodosimetry, and radiobiological modeling of radiation-induced effects. The results of his research have found applications in various high-LET radiotherapy modalities, including neutron capture therapy (NCT), Cf-252 neutron brachytherapy (NBT), proton and carbon-ion therapy, and targeted alpha therapy.
