Education
- Ph.D., Iowa State University, 2006
- M.S., Iowa State University, 2003
- B.Sc., Iowa State University, 2001
Background
Dr. Antoniou started with the Woodruff School in Fall 2008. Prior, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnlogies (CINT) at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Research
- Mechanics of Materials: Experimental mechanics, micro and nanomechanics, mechanochemical interactions, stress corrosion, and fracture
Dr. Antoniou's research focuses on understanding the micromechanics of deformation in cellular materials and metallic glasses, using both experimental measurements and numerical modeling. More recently, she has become interested in the synthesis and mechanical behavior of nanostructured materials.
