Max's research interests are in building custom tools and instruments for making biological measurements. He is currently working with the Precision Biosystems Laboratory to develop new tools for both measuring and controlling the electrical activity of individual neurons in the brain. Max returns to the department after completing his BS in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2015 and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at MIT in 2020, where he worked with the Manalis lab to develop microfluidic sensors for measuring the mass of single cells.

His office is located in IBB, room 2113.
